In our preschool, it's common to combine children of different ages in the same class, a widely-used practice that supports peer learning and social development

Students bring their lunches from home. CommuniKids provides a healthy snack each day

We offer a summer camp program with priority registration for preschool families. Summer camp tuition is separate from preschool tuition but comparable in weekly cost

2025 -2026 After-school Spanish and Mandarin for 5-8-year-olds.

Classes run from August 20 to May 30. Please see our calendar for more details.

Class sizes are limited to 20 students, with two teachers in each classroom.
Our native-speaking teachers are credentialed in Early Childhood or Elementary Education and have years of experience working with children.
The afternoon program is conducted entirely in Spanish.
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Program Details:

Age Group: 5-8 years
Program Hours: 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Bus Service: Drop-off from Oak Street Elementary, Mt Daniel Elementary, and Beech Tree Elementary

Tuition:

Three-Day Program (M, W, F):
- A non-refundable deposit of $270 is due at the time of registration and must be paid by July 1st. This deposit will be applied toward the May tuition.
- If you register after July 1st, the deposit must be paid upon registration.
- The August tuition will be prorated to $125.
- Monthly tuition is $270.00, billed from September 2025 to April 2026.
- Payments can be made online or by personal check.
- A two-week advance notice is required for any changes or to stop automatic payments, but the deposit remains non-refundable.
5-Day Program:
- A non-refundable deposit of $425 is due at the time of registration and must be paid by July 1st. This deposit will be applied toward the May tuition.
- If you register after July 1st, the deposit must be paid upon registration.
- The August tuition will be prorated to $200.
- Monthly tuition is $425, billed from September 2025 to April 2026.
- Payments can be made online or by personal check.
- A two-week advance notice is required for any changes or to stop automatic payments, but the deposit remains non-refundable.

Discounts Available:

Sibling Discount: 5% off for the second child
Military Discount: 5% off for each child

Transportation:

Buses from Oak Street Elementary, Mt. Daniel Elementary, and Beech Tree Elementary will drop children off at the bus stop directly in front of CommuniKids, where a staff member will meet them.
If your child attends a different school, you are welcome to register and drop them off at CommuniKids.

Ladybugs (18-36 mo. olds): Our toddlers enjoy exciting classes that make use of their unbounded energy and openness. Kids will develop fine and gross motor skills while enjoying developmentally-appropriate music, art, and movement activities, completely in the target language. A parent/caregiver attends the class with students. This class meets once a week.

Caterpillars (2-3 year olds): This toddler class is designed to prepare students for the preschool. You are welcome to join us even if you don’t plan on joining the preschool. This class meets twice a week.

Grasshoppers (5+ year old) Reading/Writing: Our oldest learners take their knowledge a step further with a full immersion culture-based program that provides a challenging yet nurturing and fun environment to boost expression while learning to read and write. Enrollment in these classes requires a placement test.

Student and Program Information

Ladybugs, Honeybees, and Dragonflies classes meet once a week. Grasshoppers and Caterpillars meet twice a week. Our school year has 35 weeks. During this time, children will explore a variety of themes.
Families can register online at any time during the school year. We accept rolling registrations.
We charge a yearly tuition (Sept. – June). This tuition is split in 9 equal monthly installments. Payments are due on the first of the month.
Families that are new to CommuniKids pay a registration fee of $50.
Our location offers school bus pick up for Mt Daniel and Thomas Jefferson Schools for our Tuesday and Thursday classes.
Our classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations are processed in the order they are received.
Registration and schedule changes are accepted based on space availability. Classes are subject to change or cancellation based on enrollment.
We offer make ups for missed classes by letting you attend a class that meets on a different time/day/location during the school year.
If for any reason, you are unable to continue attending our classes, please notify us. We require a 30-day written notice to process cancellations, after which we will refund the remainder of your tuition.
We are a nut-free school. Do not bring any peanut or other nut product into our classrooms.
Children are to be taken to their classrooms at the scheduled time (not before), and they are to be picked up from their classrooms as well. Pick your child up promptly; if you are running late, call us. Note that you may be charged a late pick up fee.

Policies

A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit of $100.00 per child per session is due upon registration. A registration is completed WHEN CommuniKids recieves the deposit payment. The deposit is applied toward the session cost.

The remaining balance is due by May 4, 2025.

CommuniKids does NOT offer refunds for canceled sessions after registration is completed. CommuniKids does NOT offer refunds or make-ups for missed days.

Families may request session changes before May 4, 2025 and depending on CommuniKids space availability. After May 4, no session changes will be accepted.

Parents need to submit a current (dated within a year) VA school entrance health forms and other required forms by June 7, 2025. Children CANNOT attend camp unless forms have been submitted in advance.

Young children (ages 2 ½ - 5 ½) attending full time summer camp will have a 45min "Quiet Time" period.

Children MUST bring their own lunch from home

CommuniKids is peanut and tree nut free.
